Bought to replace an older Tassimo machine, this is a much improved model. We were obviously already familiar with the Tassimo system and this machine brings the same convenience but offering a number of refinements. They have added a Britta water filter in the tank which improves the taste of drinks and helps guard against limescale build up, this is particularly useful to us as we live in a hard water area. One such filter comes with the device and will last you approx 2 months. Obviously this does result in an additional consumable to purchase, but the costs are reasonably low when bought in bulk. A small LCD display on the tank helps you keep track of when it is time to change filters. The other main upgrade is the ability to tailor your chosen drink to your taste. A simple touch screen interface allows you to select tall, medium and long drinks, whilst also giving an option to make the drink weaker or stronger. The machine defaults on the medium settings for each pod and you have the option of setting four presets if you find a combo you like. As usual with Tassimo, a great range of drinks are available, with bulk buy options giving the best value. We have a subscription via Amazon which helps us save further for our favourite pods (carte D’orr caramel macchiato). Other than that we have noticed that the device is quieter than our previous device and perhaps marginally quicker to make drinks. So long as you follow the recommended cleaning and descaling processes we have found Tassimo machines to last well. Our previous one had been in service since well before the pandemic and was still working when we chose to upgrade. The look of the appliance is sleek and the colour goes well in most modern kitchens.

I have owned a Tassimo Joy for around 5 years, I tend to buy L’Or espresso capsules as they have a bold flavour and have varying strengths, but for the days I need an extra kick I may only have mid-level capsules, so I would have a double. Step in the Tassimo My Way, an incredibly easy machine to use, now I get to have not only a stronger coffee, but I can choose a shorter or longer coffee too, all from the same pod. I currently only have L’Or Delizioso, but it turns out a lovely strong coffee. As for other drinks, my wife has Caramel Latte Macchiato, the biggest benefit she finds in this machine is the ability to change the temperature of her drink, if she is taking one to work she will have it hotter, if she is drinking one in the house she will have it slightly cooler. You will get a coffee exactly as you want it, the only downside is there are so many variables when it comes to 2 capsule drinks it may take a few tries, but they all come out amazingly, so it’s no chore. As for ease of use, my 3 year old can use it, I also have my 67 year old, very useless with tech father here for lockdown, even he has found it easy, you just touch what you want to change, for example if you want a stronger coffee press 3 beans, want it shorter press the small coffee. Then when you’ve got your perfect cup just hold a number and it’s saved for you. I cannot comment on cleaning yet as I’ve not needed to, a standard clean is simply using the orange disc, but the biggest clean you’ll ever need with one of these machines is if you pierce the disc incorrectly (usually by not paying attention and using a lot of force) this happened twice with my old machine, coffee and grounds get everywhere inside the disc holder, the Joy was a nightmare, you couldn’t get into the nooks and crannies, whereas this machine seems to open wider, with easier access to the barcode reader. Setup is very easy, you’ll be getting amazing Brita Filtered coffees in minutes, the large capacity tank means you’ll have to fill less than others, the one issue I found with the Joy is that the tank had to be tilted back, then pulled out, so if it were close to a wall you’d have to move the machine just to fill the tank, the My Way has a lift off tank which is idiot-proof. Also loading the tank back in feels far less worrying than the joy, the lid is on the tank itself, whereas the Joy used the machine itself to cover the tank, so when it’s brimmed I would often spill a little when tilting it back in.

This was a Christmas gift. It has gone down a storm in the house, my kids now appear to be becoming part of the artisan cafe culture. Its easy to use, cleans itself after each drink and the water tank holds plenty of water. What I really like about this model is that you can makes the drinks your way. There are 3 strength settings, 3 cup size settings and even an extra hot setting. These apply to your basic coffees, not necessarily the chocolates. Tassimo have now set up a pod recycling service as well which I really like. The coffees are nice, smell good and easy to make. It is not necessarily full on Barista level but given the cost I was not expecting that. Its been less than a month and this machine has had a load of use. Lets see how it lasts but as of right now I'm a big fan.

Having lived with this coffee machine for 2 years now, I think a review will be balanced. Overall, I really like this machine, it’s been reliable, easy to use, and makes decent coffee. It gets used every day. The only downsides that I have are, The large cup setting only fills half a large ish mug, not one of those huge mugs, just large ish. The water tank only hold enough for 2 medium cups of coffee, not a massive problem as it’s easy and quick to fill. The water is t quite hot enough for me. Aside from those relatively small things, I like it.
