Homemade Teriyaki Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

1 part Soy Sauce

1 part Mirin

1/4 part sugar

Place all the ingredients in a small saucepan heat to boiling point, stirring. Continue to cook until all the sugar has melted.

Remove from the heat and allow to cool before using. Store in an airtight jar/container in the fridge for many weeks.

Variations:

Boil the mixture until reduced to a thicker consistency. This is excellent to use as a dip or for basting and marinating.

Add extra flavourings before heating the mixture such as garlic, ginger, chillies or a small amount of sesame oil or seeds. Remove seasonings before storing.
