Ingredients:
4 Baking
Potatoes
Vegetable Oil
Salt
Butter, crème
fraiche or soured cream to serve (optional - not suitable for Vegans)
Instructions
1. Preheat the
oven to 190C, 375F, Gas mark 5.
2. Wash and
scrub the potatoes. Dry thoroughly with kitchen paper. Prick the skins
or score with a knife. Rub vegetable oil and salt into the skins.
3. Place
directly on a middle shelf in the oven and bake for 1 to 1-1/2 hours depending
on the size of the potato.
4. When
cooked, make a cross in the top of each potato allowing the steam to escape,
top with butter, crème fraîche or soured cream and serve immediately.
These
baked potatoes can also be filled with a variety of ingredients such as tuna,
baked beans, cheese or Chilli and served as a main course.
