Dairy Free Oat-Nut Flan Case     HT  CD  Veg  CBF  30mins

Makes 1 x 20cm/8 inch case    Hot   Cold   Vegetarian   Vegan  Dairy Free   Baked Fayre   Substitute   Pastry


100g/4oz Rolled Oats

75g/3oz Ground Walnuts

75g/3oz Ground Almonds

1/4 tsp. salt

60ml/2 fl.oz. Water

60ml/2 fl.oz. Barley Malt

3 tbsp Vegetable Oil


1. Preheat the oven to 180C, 350F Gas Mark 4 and lightly oil a 20cm/8 inch flan tin. (see below for use as a cheesecake base)

2. In a large mixing bowl, mix all the ingredients together until well blended.

3. Press into the bottom and up the sides of the flan tin and bake for 15 minutes.

Fill as usual.

For a cheesecake base, just press the mixture into the bottom of a spring-form tin to form a crust layer. If baking the cheesecake, do not pre-bake the base.
