Ascot is one of the most popular and iconic race meetings in the UK season.
Generally held over 5 days, it has been long associated with high fashion and
good food and drink.
origins of the Royal Meeting aren't really known, however the first four day
meeting took place in 1768 with the meeting as we know it today having begun in
1807 with the introduction of the Gold Cup.
The third day of Royal Ascot is traditionally the most popular day and is is
known as “Ladies’ Day”, the day when stunning (and ludicrous) hats are shown off
by lady race goers.
