Chilli Pork Burgers

Serves 4 (8 small burgers)

Ingredients
1 tbsp Olive Oil
˝ Large Onion, finely chopped or grated
2 Garlic Cloves, crushed

2 Small Chillies, deseeded and finely chopped
1 teasp Ground Cumin
450g/1lb Minced Pork (not too lean)
1 tbsp Freshly Chopped Coriander
1 Egg
Salt and Black Pepper


Instructions

1. Heat the oil in a large saucepan then add the  onion, garlic and chillies and sauté for 2-3 minutes stirring. 
Remove the pan from the heat and  allow to cool completely.

 

2. Place the cooled vegetables together with the remaining ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix well, using your hands and squidging the mixture together.

3. Form into 8 burgers, brush with a little oil then place oiled side down onto the grill and cook over medium hot coals for approximately 15 minutes, turning 2 or 3 times during the cooking period and brushing with a little extra oil before you turn, until cooked through.
 

Serving Suggestions

 

Serve on their own or in a bun with garnishes such as shredded lettuce, tomato slices, pickled gherkin slices, mustard

Using a hamburger press as shown above, cuts down on the amount of time it takes to make each burger and ensures all your burgers are the same size and so cook at the same time
